Arkoroyal First responsible apiculture label

Arkoroyal®

First responsible apiculture label

The philosophy of naturalness, respect of fundamental ethical principles and constant research into the best Quality for our products is the major concern of Arkopharma Laboratories. This is reflected in the Arkoroyal® range through the creation of the 1st Responsible Apiculture label.

Arkoroyal® is the 1st Premium Quality royal jelly range!

Certified by an independent body, the label guarantees a royal jelly from a pollution-free environment thanks to regular monitoring of the quality of the air, water and soil in a 20 km² radius of the Arkopharma hives. Royal jelly from bees fed a natural or organic diet.

This label therefore guarantees the maintenance of biodiversity and a favorable environment for the bees and their survival. It complies with a code of ethics (conditions for work, pay, living) with regard to our small-scale partner beekeepers.

First responsible label

The Responsible Apiculture label

This label, the result of a unique and exclusive relationship with its partners and monitored by a recognized independent body, attests to the application of additional requirements to the reference of the international standard for royal jelly1 and the reference standard for organic farming2 for:

  • Premium Royal Jelly and superior traceability,
  • Royal Jelly from a pollution-free environment thanks to regular monitoring of the quality of the air, water and soil in a 20 km² radius of the Arkopharma hives,
  • Royal Jelly 100% produced by bees fed an exclusively natural or organic diet.

The Responsible Apiculture label also complies with a code of ethics (conditions for work, pay, living) with regard to our small-scale partner beekeepers.

It is based on 3 fundamental pillars:

3 FUNDAMENTAL
PILLARS

Apiculture responsible label

QUALITY

Better traceability and Premium Royal Jelly that exceeds the requirements of the European Standard for royal jelly1 and organic farming2

ECOSYSTEM

Commitment to the protection of the environment for the sustainable development of a preserved ecosystem, by regular monitoring of pollution levels in the air, water and soil in a 20 km2 radius of the hives, to obtain premium royal jelly.

PEOPLE

Compliance with a qualitative CODE OF ETHICS and commitment to ethical social practices with regard to our small-scale partner beekeepers (fundamental human rights, responsible economic development, etc.)

The quality charter

  • A selection of production areas with monitoring of air, water and soil quality to provide the best “type 1” royal jelly and with 10HDA standardization, in compliance with international standard ISO 12 824 for royal jelly;
  • A pharmaceutical laboratory with ISO 22000 certification with a code of ethics and formulation ethics with no preservatives, no colorant, no alcohol, getting ever closer to being 100% plant-based;
  • Monitoring for the absence of pesticides and antibiotics3;
  • A new level of traceability, exceeding the most demanding standards (HACCP) for the harvesting and production chain;
  • A selection of beekeepers with healthy farming practices, who carefully monitor the bees’ food reserves in winter and make sure their diet is natural or even organic (pollen, nectar, honey), and monitor the decline of the bees with the use of an alarm and corrective actions if the death rate exceeds 10%;

Preservation of the ecosystem around the hives

Arkoroyal® is committed to the Protection of the Environment and Biodiversity with requirement criteria higher than for the organic certification: monitoring of the quality of the air, water and soil around the hives, and thus ensures a protected environment in the harvesting areas for its own royal jelly.

This monitoring is carried out by a recognized and accredited independent body.

In these areas, Arkopharma is committed to:

  • limiting sources of industrial or chemical pollution for the environment and biological ecosystem around the pollination areas, promoting better conditions for the survival of the bees;
  • limiting sources of electromagnetic pollution that may disturb the bees’ behavior;
  • the presence of sustainable farming areas around the hives.
Preservation of the ecosystem around the hives

The beekeepers guarantee there will be no use of synthetic chemicals (neither pesticides nor antibiotics) in the production areas, even for their own personal use (hive maintenance, vegetable gardens); and are committed to the good development, proper treatment, and safeguarding of the bees and the fight against their decline.

The quality charter

Arkoroyal® complies with a qualitative Code of Ethics and is committed to ethical social practices throughout the production chain of its own Royal Jelly:

  • an ethical commitment throughout the production chain and including the small-scale beekeeping partners: good working conditions, fair compensation, sustainable support, training, health monitoring, food monitoring, etc.
  • the incentive to implement a corporate social responsibility management system by directly raising the awareness of its suppliers and producers to social and environmental issues by funding training for beekeepers.
  • sustainable support for small-scale beekeeping partners in their approach to the protection of the bees’ environment.
  • royal jelly producers must respect fundamental human rights.
