Orthosiphon (Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume)) belongs to the Labiatae family, like thyme or mint. The leaves are harvested during the short flowering period. Its nickname “cat's whiskers” is linked to the length of its stamens, which protrude from the middle of the flowers. Orthosiphon is traditionally used to promote weight loss as part of a slimming diet, as a complement to dietary measures.

Dosage

Take by mouth. Swallow the capsule with a large glass of water.

Adults:

  • 2 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules in the evening, to be taken with meals.
  • Dosage may be increased to 5 capsules per day, if necessary.
  • As an adjuvant for urinary disorders, use should not exceed 2 weeks. It is advisable to drink sufficient water during treatment to increase urine output. If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, consult a doctor or pharmacist. If you develop symptoms such as fever, slow or difficult urination or blood in the urine, consult your doctor.
  • As an adjuvant to weight-loss diets, treatment lasts 1 month. If no weight loss has been observed after 1 month's treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
