Ispaghula seed husks promote intestinal transit, by increasing stool volume.

Ispaghula's “fibre effect” is particularly appreciated in cases of sluggish transit. The mucilage helps regulate rapid transit.

Today, Ispaghula is used for its properties on intestinal function and transit, but also on cholesterol, as its many fibres help regulate the absorption of dietary fats and, thus, maintain normal cholesterol levels. It also helps boost good cholesterol levels.

Also known as “Indian plantain” or “Blond psyllium”, this plant owes its effectiveness to the envelope surrounding its seeds: on contact with water, this envelope swells, increasing the volume of stools and thus facilitating their evacuation. But to keep its promise, Ispaghula must always be taken with a sufficient quantity of liquid.

Native to India and Pakistan, Ispaghula (Plantago ovata Forssk.) is a 20-40 cm high plant that thrives in relatively poor soil and tolerates both cold and heat. It is the seed coat that is used in phytotherapy.

Oral use. From the age of 15.

  • Take 1 capsule 3 times a day, at mealtimes and with a large glass of water.

Recommendations for use

  • It is recommended that you drink plenty of water during the period of use.
  • Space out the intake of any other medication by at least one hour.
  • If there is no improvement after 3 days, seek advice from your doctor, as well as in the case of abdominal pain and bowel or colon disease.
  • Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
  • A food supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
  • Keep out of reach of young children.
  • Store away from light, heat and moisture.
