The origins of a magnesium deficiency
A magnesium deficiency can result from 2 factors
- Inadequate (too low) consumption of fruits & vegetables and cereals,
- A growing need to combat stress, pushing our body to over-consume its magnesium reserves, which accentuates the state of fatigue: this is what we call the negative circle of stress.
The Sea lettuce used in the Arkovital® BIO Double Magnesium product is harvested in Argentina, and more precisely in Patagonia according to the strictest sustainable harvesting standards, respecting the environment.
While many seaweeds exist (rockweed, wakame, spirulina...), we chose Sea lettuce because it is the seaweed that naturally contains the most magnesium1 (Mg)), it concentrates large quantities of it to carry out its photosynthesis, which explains its high concentration (2,780 mg of magnesium / 100 g).
The nutritional analysis of Sea lettuce extract also shows richness in minerals, carbohydrates and fibres.
Due to its high magnesium concentration, a study has proven that Sea lettuce has 24% higher bio-accessibility (assimilation) compared to synthetic and marine magnesium oxide3.
This can be explained by the natural composition of the extract, which considerably increases the solubility and therefore the assimilation of the magnesium contained in the Arkovital® BIO Double Magnesium tablets.

Double Magnesium is combined with a concentrate of plant extracts providing 4 Vitamins that are 100% of plant origin:
- Vitamin B6: complementary action with magnesium,

Holy basil (Ocimum sanctum)
It has been used for more than 3000 years and is considered a sacred plant with more religious than culinary uses.

Vitamins B6, B2, B5 & B1 also come from a plant extract of Guava, Sacred basil and lemon, certified organic from organic and responsible agriculture.
These vitamins come from an extraction with water, by a patented process, without the use of solvents or chemical ingredients.

In order to maintain a perennial ecosystem and the long-term control of the harvest, the small harvesters are trained to cut the algae at the thallus level, without damaging the foot and allowing regrowth.
Reproduction periods are also respected, in order to protect marine biodiversity.
The seaweed is washed on the spot in seawater, then dried in the sun. The magnesium is then concentrated in France, in Brittany, from the Sea lettuce and the seawater is used for extraction.
